The need for drag and drop reporting

Can standard reports give you all the information, on your projects and agency, that you’ll ever need? No. There will always be a need for information that is a little non-standard.

For example, is a standard report going to give you summaries of sales invoice between two specific dates, and compare them against targets?

And include cross tabs, and display it in table form with exactly the columns you need, and also present it in chart form?

How Data Viewer is used

It’s used in two ways:

To create reports you need on a regular basis such as weekly or monthly. You can even opt to have the reports automatically emailed to you at those times so you never forget either the timing or their exact specifications.

To create ad hoc reports whenever you need them. When you suddenly need information – for a meeting, or a decision, or some insights – Data Viewer lets you create a custom report in moments whenever you need.

Data viewer enables you to analyse your data and display the results in many ways. Sophisticated filtering, ordering and date ranges of data can be selected, and views can be saved for easy access from then on.

What types of data you can report on


Examples: Time sheets (actual posted time) / Time booked (time allocated using the calendar bookings) / Time estimated (for capacity planning) / Time available (during a specific period).


Examples: Client targets to view / Sales invoices (actual invoices, not drafts) / Sales invoices in terms of gross or net profit) / Billing plans / Opportunities (using the Quoted values and the Sales expected close dates).


Purchases (can be filtered to show PO estimates) / Expenses (can be filtered to show expense estimates) / Purchase invoices.


Examples: Materials (if used) / Activities (for example used to track business development).

Data values and filters

Within each data type you can further filter the information based on the type of data value, for example:

  • Units
  • Cost
  • Change

And, depending on the type of information you have chosen, you can filter by such things as:

  • Real vs Pending
  • Confirmed vs Draft
  • Available vs Booked
  • Turnover vs Gross Profit vs Net Profit
  • Invoiced vs Recognised vs GP or NP
  • Weighted Values
  • Expected Close Date vs Final Invoice Date
  • Created Date vs Due Date vs Completed Date


A wide variety of dates and timings can be accommodated, with commonly requested ranges available as fast options (such as This Month & YTD for this year vs last year).
